Sail on Aunt Blanche

 

Blanche White Walker, 88, of Louisville returned to her Heavenly Father Thursday, March 1, 2012.

Mrs. Walker was born April 23, 1923 in Edmonson County, KY to the late William Edward and Maggie Elizabeth Ray White and was a member of Zion United Baptist Church.

Among those who preceded her in death include, her husband, David Montgomery Walker; parents; two brothers and four sisters.(That is Aunt Blanche in red with her sister, my mom, in purple.)

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Martha Ward (Riley) and Mary Lou Sturgeon (Paul); grandchildren, B. Rex Hill, S. Casey, Hannah and Sarah Sturgeon; great grandchildren, Macy and Miles Hill; sister, Frances Lashley and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Zion United Baptist Church, 7436 Ralston Ave., Louisville, KY 40258, with burial in the Lone Hill Cemetery.

Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9-10:15 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road).  Expressions of sympathy may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation.
