Fruits and gifts

From Marilyn Hickey’s Bible Encounter:

Fruits of the spirit include

  1. love, joy, and peace (fruits for you to eat),
  2. longsuffering, gentleness and goodness (fruits for others to eat), and
  3. meekness, faithfulness, and temperance (fruits for God to eat).

Remember to blend the fruit (character) with the gifts of the spirit, just like on the priests garment hems. Temper the gifts with the fruits so that you will be a ding-a-ling, and not a clanging bell.

I love this imagery.  It is a great reminder to share my gifts in love, joy, and peace with gentleness and faithfulness. What about you?
