Give Up Your Personal History

“Here lies my past, Goodbye I have kissed it, Thank you, I wouldn’t have missed it.” – Ogden Nash

  • A boat leaves a wake, a trail left behind where the boat has been. A wake cannot drive the boat, why do you let your history drive you? A wake is just a trail left behind, but have you? Being bonded to your past prevents your healing.

“The moving finger writes and having writ moves on; not all thy tears can wash out one word of it.” – Omar Khayyam You can cry all about what has been written in your history, but you cannot remove it, so why cry.

  • Yes you have a past, and yes, you have a future; but not now. All you get is now. Be where you are. If you reading a book, read it. If you are on vacation, enjoy it. If you are eating an appetizer, don’t think about dessert. Now is all you get, so don’t drift off during it.
