Clean Your Kitchen

fridge

Many authors, including Dr. Phil McGraw in one of his earlier books on weight loss, wrote that in order to keep from sabotaging ourselves, we should clean out all of the bad foods from our kitchen. Remove all the cookies, breads, and sugars from our cupboards so that we do not reach for them in weak moments. My kitchen does not hold these temptations because other than a few cans of soup and tuna and boxes of tea in the cupboard I do not keep food in my home.

Still, I believe this is a good exercise for me to complete. So today I cleaned the kitchen – the shelves, the counters, the appliances, and steam cleaned the floor. Then I stocked the refrigerator with V-8 juices, fat-free milk and salad mixes. Now my kitchen is stocked with healthy foods. I just have to motivate myself to walk into my kitchen and bypass all those restaurants I see on my way to and from work.
