Tomorrow Ends the 40 Day Journey for 2015

How did you do? It’s been 40 days….did you change an eating habit? Did you up your exercise regime? Did you identify some stressors to remove from your life? Thanks for coming along with me on this journey. What will be your next one?  As a reminder…below is my transparency on how I did. Feel free to share yours in the comments.

  • Numbers:
  • Weight: Each is different;She: the goal is your body mass index  should be below 25%  She: Not yet, but 10 percentage points closer than last year.
  • Waist: For women, should be 35 inches or less; for men 40 inches. (A high waist measurement increases your risk for heart disease.) She: Not yet, a few more inches to go.
  • Cholesterol:< 150  She: Yes
  • LDL: < 75 She:Yes
  • HDL: >40 She:Yes
  • Triglycerides: <150  She: Almost…just 5 points over but a great improvement from last year.
  • Blood pressure: 120 / 80 She: Yes
  • Blood sugar: < 100 She: Yes
  • Say no to sodas for 40 days?   She: Yes; I gave them up last May.        
  • Drink water every day?  She: Yes.   
  • Drink water every day according to the list? She: Mostly; there is room for improvement with this one.
  • Follow the food plan? She: Yes, the South Beach Diet has been a good fit for me. I’ll keep at it for a while longer.
  • Keep a food journal? She: Yes.
  • Follow exercise plans (aerobic/weight/steps) She: This needs improvement.
  • Lose the remaining 6 pounds to finish the “Losing the DC 35 goal?” She:Yes. 
  • Was this 40 day journey a success? Yes, If you remember the January 8th post about dharma dolls, you’ll know what two photos below mean.
