Almost everyone is overstimulated at times – pressured, anxious, or frightened of something. Many people overeat to calm themselves. Even as the mind is hysterically grasping for more food, the stomach is moaning, “no more.”
Exercise: For the next 3 days, each morning and each night hand-write the following sentence 30 times: Dear God, Please feed my hunger and restore my mind.
Each time you eat, say this prayer as well. It doesn’t matter if you are eating a cookie or celery. You are trying to realign your thinking, to calm your over-stimulated mind.
