Breathe and be at home in the universe. Even if you can only do it for a moment or two, do it. Simply be here and be at home being here. Return to the present again and again if only for a breath or two. When you do this, you unite Spirit and personality.
Look for small opportunities to be present – a thirty second elevator ride, a two minute walk, a coffee break, waiting for a friend at a restaurant, driving home at the end of the day, are all opportunities to be present in the midst of doing something else.
Pay attention when you are not present – Simply being is often seen as boring in the western culture. When feeling bored, practice just being. When feeling bored simply being, determine what weights, what burdens you are carrying that are keeping you from being at peace in the present.
